2010 SPIRIT MADNESS CHEER & DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP

LATEST DETAILS - Updated 3/11/10

1)  Cheer teams note your division. We have two divisions for team performance, *cheer dance* which DOES NOT include stunting, and *team cheer* which DOES include stunting. Confirm you are in the correct division.

2) Food Donations - remind spectators that admission. $10 per person, $5 per person with non perishable food items for Feeding America (formerly known as the 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Wisconsin).  Children 2 and under are free.

3) Grand Champion Awards - the cheer and dance team with the overall highest score will receive a grand champion trophy during their respective awards ceremony!

4) Spirit Award - the cheer and dance team with the most TEAM SPIRIT throughout the competition will receive a special spirit award at their respective award ceremony!

5)  Make sure to encourage your team members and families to cheer on their teams and bring signage, poms, and anything else to show their team spirit!  Please avoid horns or loud cow bells.

PRE-REGISTRATION

The event registration deadline is Saturday, February 27, 2010.  This means that all registration forms must be received on or before that date.

* 4th Place Trophies will be awarded if there are 8 or more entries in a division.

* In the solo & small group division, participants will receive medals.
* In the Pee-Wee / Youth Divisions all teams will receive trophies.

EVENT COST

    *  1st Team Routine  -  $15.00 per team member
    *  Additional Routine -  Additional $50.00 per team

Stunt Groups:  (Cheer)     

  • $45.00 - Stunt Group I (3 to 4 Cheerleaders)

  • $60.00 - Stunt Group II (5 to 6 Cheerleaders)

Small Groups: (Dance)

  • $30.00 - Small Group I (2 to 4 Dancers)

  • $75.00 - Small Group II (5 to 7 Dancers)

Soloist: (Cheer & Dance)

  • $15.00 per person (in addition to team fees)

Spectator Entrance Fee:          

  •     $10.00 per person   

  •     $5 w/ non-perishable food item 

  •     Children 2 & under enter for FREE

Non-Perishable food items collected will be donated to the 2nd Harvest Food Bank in Milwaukee, WI.

RULES & REGULATIONS

The competition will follow the standard NFHS rules for school-affiliated teams and the standard USASF rules for All-Star Teams.  In the event a technical judge for NFHS and / or USASF is not be present points will not be deducted for violations.  It is advised that coaches, advisors, and / or  choreographers are aware of and take appropriate measures to protect the safety of all performers.  All event judges are encouraged to make note of violations during performances, which may affect how a performance is scored.

Competing teams may be checked for fingernails & jewelry and will be docked points if one or more performers are found in violation.

SPECTATOR ETIQUETTE:  Coaches please be advised to inform all guest to be respectful of performers before, during, and after their performances.  Disrespectful behavior includes but is not limited to walking during performances, rude or obscene comments through out the event, booing, etc.

JUDGES

Both the cheer & dance divisions will have two panels of highly qualified judges.  Each panel will always consist of three performance judges.  If a technical judge is added, participants will be notified.  At the end of the competition, coaches may pick up their score sheets. 

ROUTINE TIME LIMITS

  • Solo Time:  1 minute 30 seconds
  • Partner Stunt Time (Cheer):  1 minute 30 seconds
  • Small Group Time (Dance):  1 minute 30 seconds
  • Team Time (Cheer / Dance):  2 minutes 30 seconds
  • Drill / Step Team Time:  2 minutes 30 seconds
  • Parent / Coach Time:  2 minutes 30 seconds
  • Mascot Time:  1 minute 30 seconds

Teams will not be penalized for routines less than the time limits listed above.
